xc Worm Farming: No sign of life

No sign of life

We have left the wormery for over 2 weeks now in the hope that a new generation of worms would be 're-born' but as the picture shows, it's pretty grim in there! Each level contains dark rotting matter, there are millions of tiny flies in the lower two levels.

I think we're going to have to start again.

Can you tell me - did you want your worms just to make compost for yourselves or were you hoping to worm farm and sell on the worms to make money?

I thought it was the latter originally but maybe i misunderstood

Hi Heather,

No, have no intention of selling worms, there was a comment on the blog from someone in the US asking about making money from worms (which I thought was a bit strange to be honest). We're just hoping to keep our organic waste out of landfill (and supply allotment owning friends with worm wee). Certainly no commercial aspect involved.
